Daniel Hogenbirk

Co‑Founder, North Lakes Developments & Construction

Daniel’s passion for building began early , he was already gaining hands‑on experience on construction and landscaping sites, learning the value of hard work and perseverance before he left high school.

After completing his undergraduate degree, Daniel seized the opportunity to purchase his parents’ construction business alongside his brother‑in‑law, Bill Savage. Together, they confronted unprofitable divisions and shifting market demands — especially in snow removal — by pivoting into interior renovations and real estate investment. In 2018, they converted several duplexes, retrained their team, and by 2022, were able to streamline operations, divesting underperforming arms and fully exiting the winter services industry.

Daniel continues to live in one of the company’s converted apartments — a choice that helps keep personal expenses low so that more capital can be reinvested in growing the business and pursuing financial independence.

A lifelong learner, Daniel consistently invests in his own education — taking courses, engaging in mentorship and networking groups, and exploring new construction and development strategies to drive North Lakes forward.

When he’s not on a job site or reviewing blueprints, Daniel is an avid outdoorsman and wildlife photographer. Inspired by his father’s eco‑tourism passion, Daniel has set himself an ambitious goal: to photograph every species of big cat in the wild.
