As we wrap up May and enter June, it finally seems we are getting some better weather for construction. It has been one of the wettest and coldest springs I can remember but it seems to be starting to turn around.
Bill has been out showing little James what fun it can be working around the house. Instilling in your kids early that these tasks can be a source of pleasure can help them as they go through life as they aren’t seen as burdensome. With James always wanting to help out his favorite toys have become his lawnmower, wheelbarrow, and chainsaw.
Precious and I tried Burgers from Olympus Burgers this past month. They have now tried over 20 restaurants for their challenge of 52 restaurants in 52 weeks. This restaurant has won Canada’s best burger in the past, and they live up to it. We recommend giving it a try!
Pro Tips:
1. Look up their secret menu, as your favorite burger may not be advertised.
2.Ask for the peppercorn Patty!
I was able to attend several events geared towards missing middle development over the last month.
It was great to see what other people in the space are currently doing and what they are looking to do as policies continue to evolve to increase the amount of housing built.
Drywall has been completed at the Six-plex and all the exterior siding is now finished. Interior finishing work has begun and we are expecting to have some of the units ready for showings by the end of the month.
Skilled trades have finished up at our semi-detached triplexes in Bowmanville. The exterior cladding is well underway. Insulation and Drywall is expected to be completed in June. Advertising units for rent at this property are expected to start in June when we have occupancy.
The detached triplexes in Oshawa have received occupancy after 7 months of construction! Happy to be at the final stages for this property.
The first tenants are moving in on June 1st and are expecting the remaining units to be filled shortly after.
