Whoever said Canada has two seasons winter and construction hasn’t met us here at North Lakes!
This winter is gearing up to be a busy season for us, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Our current projects are moving along quite well giving our staff places to work while the weather cools down.
Our Teams Growing!
We had new team members join us in the last few months. My wife has joined the North Lakes team and will be taking on a role managing the rental portfolio and Human Resources. We are excited and a little nervous to be working together but are happy to take on the challenge. We are also looking forward to seeing her take ownership of her role and make it her own.
The members of the Barton Building Group have also officially joined North Lakes as permanent members of our Team! They are happy to be working away framing the triplexs at Center Street, and we are excited about how this new amalgamation will be able to improve both our service and our timelines.
Barton Building Group has been around building houses for nearly twenty years. With an expertise in framing and finishing homes this addition both adds to our in-house capabilities and depth of expertise for construction.
New Service Areas!

We are pleased to announce with our growing team we are expanding our service area. North Lakes will now expand our service area to include Peterborough, Scarborough, Port Hope, and Cobourg!
Project Updates
Our second Oshawa coach house is nearing the final stages of construction. Our client will be able to have the home up for rent in January. We were able to finalize the landscaping in time getting the sod installed before the freezing weather.
The coach house at our multi-phase project is also well underway with the drywall beginning to be installed this week. The existing home is now fully rented out, allowing us to offset our financing costs while we continue the construction through the project. The coach house phase of the project looks to be on track to be finished in January.
We have also closed in our first triplex and started framing the second on our Center Street site. We are closing in on six weeks of construction here and are happy with our progress thus far.
We received approval for several severances as well this month bringing two more of our projects one step closer to the finish line. Both of these projects we are expecting to be able to build out in 2025.
