Happy New Year!
I hope you were able to relax and enjoy your Holidays.
Looking back, I hope you were happy with what you accomplished in 2024. If you haven’t done so already, I encourage you to take some time to set goals for this coming year.
I was told several years ago to set goals in the most important areas of my life. The primary categories to focus on are Health, Wealth, and Happiness. Every year, you should set goals in each category to further your journey down each facet that affects your life the most. Over time, you are always moving closer to what would be your ideal life.
Some of my goals from 2024 for each category I was able to achieve this last year were;
→Health- Loose 40lbs
→Wealth- Work with Investors on new development projects and attract great people to the North Lakes team, joining us on our mission to build the missing middle.
→Happiness- Take at least one vacation for a minimum of two weeks!
This coming year I have done the same thing with goals in each category, a few of my goals being;
Health- Study and create a meal plan that optimizes both health span and lifespan that I enjoy and can eat sustainably for a lifetime.
Wealth- Continue to grow North Lakes and complete a minimum of 25 units of new construction.
Happiness- Take my wife, Precious, to 52 different restaurants in 52 weeks!
These goals will move me closer to my ideal life. If you haven’t broken down your goals into categories, hopefully, you at least enjoyed the suggestion to try it out for 2025.
Project Updates
We finished our Oshawa coach house in time for the holidays. We are very happy with how it turned out and are elated to have it ready for our customers for January 2025.
We are moving along very well at our double triplex site in Oshawa. Both buildings are framed. One of them we have begun drywalling and the other is a little further behind with the skilled trades nearing completion. Overall we are happy with our progress coming out of our second month under construction.
We began construction of our semi-detached triplex’s in Clarington and were able to get it capped before the holidays. We are looking forward to the remainder of the build-out this year.
We got a nice Christmas present over the holidays as well: the permit for our Oshawa 6-plex! We will be starting this build as soon as we get back from the break.
We’ve started the finishes for our Bowmanville Coach House on our multi-phase project. We are targeting having this phase complete and looking for a tenant for this unit in February or March.

We are excited to continue with our property tours in 2025. If you have been following along on our journey and are excited about the opportunities in missing middle housing you won’t want to miss these.
